JLT has placed Aviation war cover for Airlines Qantas and Air New Zealand 


That is not subject to cancellation in the traditional way, according to sister publication The Insurance Insider.

Traditionally, Aviation war policies have a seven day notice period that insurers can use to trigger a change in terms or pricing following an event or even cancel the policy altogether.


The Influential Aviation Magazine Air Transport World has named Qantas as its Airline of the Year. 

The award will be presented to Qantas chief executive and managing director, James Strong, at a gala dinner in the Westin Stamford HOTEL'S Raffles Ballroom in Singapore on 

The presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place on the eve of the prestigious Asian Aerospace Exhibition and Airshow. 

Air Transport World's senior editor, James P. Woolsey, said Thursday the Airline of the Year Award was intended to honor excellence in the industry. 

The selection of Qantas is a tribute to its performance in the international and domestic arenas under the guidance of James Strong and his executive team,he said.Qantas has earned this award through outstanding performance in a number of disciplines.

Woolsey said the airline had qualified by providing outstanding service to the public, developing innovative new MARKETS and services, introducing new technology to the industry and performing in a consistently profitable way. 

Qantas joins the honor role of previous winners, including Lufthansa, British Airways, American, Singapore, JAL and Cathay Pacific,he added. 

Air Transport World, which is based in Washington, D.C., and focuses on World Airline Management, introduced the Airline of the Year award in 1974.
