Boyed, an accomplished muso, surprised his TVNZ colleagues by secretly marrying Chevin in Switzerland earlier this year. The new Mrs Boyed is delighted to be here, telling: Me and my suitcase full of Toblerone have just hit New Zealand ground and I am really excited to start my new life Downunder. Alert As Light Plane Flips At Airport Three men on board a light plane escaped serious injury when it Flipped as it came into land at Hawke's Bay Airport yesterday. The crash landing, just after noon, disrupted Flights into and out of the Airport for about two hours. Witnesses said the Cessna 206 appeared to make an abrupt last minute change of direction as it prepared to touch down on the Airport's secondary east west runway. The plane appeared to lose power and nose dived, ending up resting upside down on grass near the northern end of the main north south runway used by commercial Aircraft. Police said the Pilot and two passengers on board managed to get out of the plane and were not injured. Several fire appliances, police and St John ambulance crews responded to the crash. Virgin Yet To Join Etihad's New Alliance Club Etihad has unveiled plans to form its own Airline alliance with its partner Airlines to improve network, service and Frequent Flyer points for a more consistent experience, but local partner Virgin Australia has yet to join the group. Etihad Airway Partners founding members will include Airberlin, Air Serbia, Air Seychelles, India's Jet Airways and Darwin Airline. Those are the carriers with which Etihad has the closest relationship. Etihad owns 21.2 per cent of Virgin and the Abu Dhabi based carrier's Australian born chief executive James Hogan sits on the board. However, Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines also have equity stakes in Virgin, making for a more complicated structure. Mr Hogan said Etihad Airways Partners was open to any airline, regardless of whether it was part of an existing alliance. Kiwi T 6s Transit Australia On Ferry Two more Beechcraft T-6C advanced Trainers have transited Australian skies on their ferry Flights on their way to the Royal New Zealand Air Force. The Aircraft, build numbers 4 and 5 of 11 the RNZAF have on order, arrived in Darwin from Bali on October 5 and, after overnighting in Brisbane, paid a visit to the BAE Systems Australia run ADF Basic Flying Training School at Tamworth on October 7. The Aircraft are nearing the end of their epic ferry Flight from Wichita in Kansas to Ohakea near Auckland, which has travelled via Canada, Greenland, Iceland, the UK, Italy, Greece, Jordan, the UAE, India, Indonesia, and Singapore.
